Balance Is a Religious Principle
Islam is a religion of balance. It does not glorify exhaustion, nor does it excuse neglect. This principle becomes especially important for Muslims who fast while working long or demanding hours.
Fasting does not mean pushing the body until it breaks, nor does it mean withdrawing from responsibility. Wisdom lies in planning: nourishing suhoor, managing energy, resting when possible, and pacing effort throughout the day. These are not weaknesses; they are acts of understanding the purpose of the law.
At the same time, balance does not mean lowering commitment. Responsibilities toward employers, colleagues, and clients are trusts that must be honored. Islam does not permit harming others under the pretext of worship.
When balance is achieved, fasting strengthens work rather than disrupting it. The believer learns sustainability—serving God without harming the body, and serving people without neglecting faith.
Ramadan succeeds when balance produces consistency, not collapse.
